20.11.2011: KUMBAKONAM DISTRICT CONFERENCE: The second District Conference of Kumbakonam was held in a magnificent setting on 19.11.2011 at Kumbakonam. Com.A.Mohan, District President presided over the meeting. Com.R.J.Christopher, District Secretary welcomed the gathering. Com.RRB, ACS delivered the inaugural address. Com.MSR ACS, Com.S.Jeyachandran, CWC Member, Com.Jayaraman, District President, Thanjavur, Com.T.Gunasekaran, DS, Trichy, Com.VS, veteran TU Leader of Kumbakonam and Shri N.Parthiban, DGM (F) felicitated the Conference. GMT, Kumbakonam had sent in a message felicitating the conference. Com.K.Rajasekaran delivered the Special Address. Com.S.Manoharan, Circle President delivered the valedictory address. The deliberations mainly revolved around VRS, ITS absorption and Financial status of BSNL. Com.Ranganathan, SDE, CMTS, Trichy, representing the younger generation made a vibrant speech raising many questions to ponder over, reflecting a hopeful future for the organisations, both BSNL as well as AIBSNLOA. 02.04.2011: The Posting order for the newly promoted 155 SDEs will be released most likely on Monday (4.4.11). 

01.04.2011: Good News to BSNL Officers retired after 1.1.2000: BSNL Officers promoted after 1.1.2000 and opted for BSNL were allowed to remain in CDA Scale and get fixation in CDA on promotion and to change over to IDA Scale as an absorbed officer of BSNL. DOT Cell, Tamilnadu Circle is against such fixation done by BSNL.

           OA : 700/2009 was filed by Shri A.Venkataraman & 11 others at Chennai CAT and CAT allowed the prayer. DOT Cell appealed in High Court, Chennai in WP 288/2011.   Now, this WP 288/2011 was dismissed with direction to implement the OA 700/2009 within 8 Weeks. DOT Cell has no powers to alter the last pay drawn by the BSNL Absorbed Employees while authorizing pension. DOT orders dt 4.11.10 and 22.11.10 on the above subject cleared the case and in most of the circles it was implemented except Tamilnadu. Now, by High Court, Chennai order dt 30.3.11, DOT Cell, Tamilnadu Circle has to implement the order as done by other circles.

Since the Circle Secretary was out of station, Our Association was not able to attend the meeting with the Administration to discuss the modalities for the SDE Promotion and posting. 13.02.2011: Purposeful CEC at Coimbatore: Our Circle Executive Meeting was held at Coimbatore on 12.02.2011 under the Presidentship of Com.P.Manoharan, Circle President. All SSAs were represented and deliberations were mainly on improving revenue and reducing wasteful expenditure in BSNL.  All the speakers in the CEC made various concrete suggestions on the above issue with supportive statistics.  On further strengthening of AIBSNLOA many time bound strategies were worked out in the CEC.  Every participant opined that the CEC was held in a very purposeful and meaningful manner.  Com.Subbarayan, ACS, NFTE and Com.Dhanushkodi DS NFTE, Coimbatore felicitated the CEC meeting.  Com.Ponnusamy, District President of Coimbatore SSA shared the dias and delivered an informative speech. We thank Coimbatore comrades for making wonderful arrangement for the conduct of the CEC.

09.01.2011: The Seminar on "Survival of BSNL is imperative for social and economical development of India" held on 08.01.2011 as a part of the First Annual Conference of Trichy District Branch was an astounding sucess. Hundreds of Executives thronged the hall and had an attentive hearing of the inspiring speech by Prof.Victor Louis Anthuvan.  It was an enthralling experience which would be cherished by all for a long time to come. Com.V.Usha, CWC Member Presided over the Seminar. Com.T.Gunasekaran welcomed the gathering.  Com.S.Kamaraj, ACS made the inaugural speech. 18.4.2010: Indefinite Strike from April 20: As per the decision taken by JAC at Circle level, Joint Meetings were held at Coimbatore, Madurai and Trichy on 15th, 16th and 17th.  Com.MSR, ACS addressed the meeting at Coimbatore, Com.S.Kamaraj, ACS addressed at Madurai and Com.R.Boopathy, VP addressed at Trichy. The meeting was not conducted at Salem and hence Com.T.Gunasekaran, DS, Trichy could not address the meeting as scheduled. 

10.4.2010: The second day proceedings of our Circle Conference included Felicitations by other unions and Association.  In the Delegates Session Com.V.Kannan Circle Finance Secretary delivered a special informative speech on 'What ails BSNL?  Where we do stand?'   Deliberations were fruitful and many important resolutions were passed. 29.3.2010: INDEFINITE STRIKE FROM APRIL 20: Circle Level Joint Action Committee met today at Chennai.  Our CS participated in the meeting.  It has been decided to jointly mobilise for the Indefinite Strike from 20th April 2010.  Joint Action Committees are to be formed in all SSAs comprising all unions and associations.  Preparatory meetings are to be conducted in all SSAs.  During 15th, 16th and 17th April 2010,  Joint Meetings will be conducted in Coimbatore, Trichy, Madurai and Salem and addressed by nominated Office-bearers of all unions/associations.  In Chennai efforts will be made to hold a Joint Press Meet on 19th April 2010.

29.3.2010: The Pay Scale of the Executive does not change due to post based Promotion, his/her next time bound scale upgradation will be considered ON COMPLETION OF 5 YEARS OF SERVICE IN CURRENT IDA SCALE WEF. THE DATE OF EFFECT OF TBP. The above  Clarification for Time Bound Promotion Policy given by BSNL CO today.  Example : A JTO had been given TBP to SDE Scale wef. 1.10.04 and subsequently she got SDE Promotion in DEC 08. 28.3.2010: General Body meetings of Tirunelveli, Nagercoil and Karaikudi District Branches were held on 25th, 26th and 27th March 2010 respectively. Com.P.Manoharan, Circle President, Com.K.Rajasekaran, CS and Com.RRB, ACS attended and addressed these meetings. 
A well attended meeting at Tirunelveli was presided over by Com.S.S.A.Samsu Mohideen.  Com.A.Alwar, AO was felicitated on his retirement.  Com.P.Arunachalam, JAO delivered Welcome address. All the five successful candidates in the JAO Part II Examination have joined our Association and were present in the meeting.  Com.R.Revathy, CAO proposed Vote of Thanks. Com.S.Perumalraj, DS and Com.S.Ganapathy had made arrangements for the meeting. 
In Nagercoil, the AGB was Presided by Com.Raja Christy, AO.  Com.S.Ravindran, DS was felicitated on his retirement.  Members had turned out in good numbers.  Com.P.A.Appan, CAO, Com.R.Rajendran, JTO and Com.D.S.Dhas have been elected as President, Secretary and Finance Secretary in the AGB.  In the morning CS and ACS addressed the Dharna organised by all unions and associations against the recommendations of Pitroda Committee.
The Vasavi Hall where the meeting was held in Karaikudi wore a festive look. Com.G.Ganesan, VP of the District Branch presided over the meeting.  District President Com.R.Sekaran was felicitated in the meeting on his retirement.  More than 120 comrades attended the meeting to felicitate Com.Sekaran.  Leaders of all unions and associations, including those from Consumer Forum felicitated Com.Sekaran.  Com.S.Jeyachandran, DS and Com.R.Boopathy, COS had made very elaborate arrangement for the meeting and received appreciation from all.

02.02.2010: Our Third CEC was held in the Conference Hall of Hotel Venkatramana, Kumabakonam in a Grand Manner. Within a short notice, excellent arrangements for the CEC had been made  by Com.Christopher and his team under the dynamic guidance of Com. MSR. 20.01.10: The Karaikudi mess: The 'mess' we mean is not the place for Chettinadu items.  We mean the way in which posting of JTOs on officiating promotion to SDE has been handled by the Karaikudi administration.  In the absence of regular GM, the officer who doesn't have the power to decide on the issue has actually decided the postings, in the interests of his association, neglecting the interests of BSNL and in violation of orders on restructuring.  Click Here for DS/KKD letter.  Circle Secretary spoke to GM/VGR who is on additional charge of Karaikudi SSA and explained in detail all the discrepancies in the postings.  GM/VGR has agreed to have a reconsideration on the issue.  We hope BSNL's interests will be safeguarded by GM/VGR.
